The Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau is paving the way for cannabis shops to open in Canada to sell limited amounts to adults over the age of 18. The government would set up marketing and public relation campaigns to try to discourage higher consumption. The Canadian financial system will be open to the new industry and it is thought that many American companies may move to Canada. It has been estimated that Canadians spent over £3.4 billion on illegal marijuana last year.
Canada is to legalise cannabis for recreational use.
