Services For Community Pharmacies
In a working lifetime, many pharmacists will neither have had to relocate a pharmacy nor identified an affordable opportunity to open a new one. We always keep close to pharmacy contract developments and have advised many customers wishing to get into the pharmacy business on what options are open to them in order to open a new pharmacy under ruling legislation.
As pharmacies have got busier with prescriptions stock levels have crept up and storage space has become cramped, yet the idea of pharmacy automation may seem an expensive solution. Under the pressure of delivering quality services, most independent pharmacists have not made the time to stand back and look at how they could work smarter not harder, and so make more profit out of their existing pharmacy business.
Pharmacy Consulting has extensive practical experience of providing and supporting all of the above activities on a regular basis. We can therefore usually quickly identify cost effective solutions to issues and also identify opportunities for further business development.
As Donald Rumsfeld once said “there are unknown unknowns”. A pharmacy consultant is, however, paid to know and will have experienced most pharmacy situations in some form before. It does not make economic sense for a community pharmacist to try to do everything personally nor make sense to simply leave out doing those bigger things they do not feel confident about doing. What makes sense is to ask for support from an experienced and independent pharmacy consultant.
Our normal approach following an e-mail enquiry or a telephone conversation where a serious project is mutually envisaged is to offer a site visit following which a written project proposal is submitted to the customer with clearly defined goals, timescales and costs, for customer approval before work commences.
Whilst we are willing to give some informal advice over the telephone, we clearly must time limit such enquiries as we are not on those occasions paid advisors. Whilst we always aim to give best advice, no responsibility can be taken for informal advice based on situations indirectly described to us.
The services that we most often are asked to provide to community pharmacists are listed on this web site. Customers requiring services other than those listed should submit an enquiry as we are open to quote to provide services other than those listed on this web site, within our competence, upon request.
