Taking meds made in India

Being aware of taking medicines manufactured in India? Nowadays well known multinational companies manufacturing their licensed pharmaceutical products in India but only by qualified manufacturer. Last year 25% of UK medicines are made in India and each batch manufactured is tested to ensure its safety.

The MHRA is continuing to inspect Indian sites to ensure Good Manufacturing Practice. In October 2015, MHRA has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with its counterpart body in India. The aim of this agreement is to improve patient safety and will strengthen the relations between the 2 countries. Therefore we can safely purchase medicines made there. Authorities and also the pharmaceutical company ( director, QPs, QAs) visiting the manufacturing sites well often for inspections and audits.
